ARINC Specification 600-19: Air Transport Avionics Equipment Interfaces
July 13, 2011
Goal: The standardization of aircraft electronic equipment racking, power and environmental packaging in the air transport aircraft.
Scope: ARINC 600 sets forth:
- The definition, guidance, and appraisal for design and acceptance of the mechanical, electrical and environmental interfaces between Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and the racks or cabinets in which they are installed.
- The definition, guidance, and appraisal for design and acceptance of the mechanical, electrical and environmental interfaces between racks or cabinets and the aircraft in which they are installed.
Benefit: Airlines benefit from the cost savings of standardized racking, power, and environmental definitions found in ARINC Specification 600. The evolutionary process in applying technological advances in avionics packaging allows for simpler system upgrades, faster box replacement times, and electronic equipment that is fundamental to the use of the aircraft.
