The AMC-AEEC encourages all participants to use Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings as your opportunity to visit with the industry suppliers that are supporting AMC-AEEC. We would ask airline attendees to refrain from accepting invitations for dinners, tours, or other activity that will take them outside the Hyatt Regency - Phoenix where the supplier hospitalities will be located.

WEPPS - Wireless Emergency Primary Power System  is a new application of existing technologies for managing and powering emergency lighting systems that provides airlines with:

• A 'fit-for-life' solution of battery modules that need no charging and no scheduled maintenance – ever
• A means of carrying out automated daily MEL checks on the whole emergency lighting system in under 10 seconds
• Easy installation – can be installed in an overnight shift
• Less stock - since the batteries do not need maintaining, swap-over spares are not needed

Cutting Costs and Increasing Safety

WEPPS exemplifies STG’s mission to reduce the cost of operating aircraft and to make flying safer. We’ve applied modern technologies in an innovative package to eliminate laborious and repetitive maintenance tasks:

• The batteries are wirelessly checked every day, as opposed to monthly, leading to a safer cabin environment
• The emergency lighting systems are checked by a more reliable, objective, automatic process, replacing the current subjective, manual process
• The battery performance is more reliable
• The elimination of the daily ‘walk-up-and-down’ check and the regular battery maintenance reduces the time and cost that engineers spend on preparing an aircraft
• The ‘fit and forget’ solution reduces inventory costs

WEPPS is certified for B737/757/767, DHC8-400 and BAe 146 aircraft and is already generating cost and labor-savings for operators of these aircraft.  The WEPPS certification process is already underway for a wide range of other aircraft models.
