I would like to attend the Sedona tour on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Tour departs from the Hyatt at 0800 and returns at 1700.

Tlaquerpaque PlazaYour unforgettable Sedona experience includes spending time at Sedona’s Arts & Crafts Village, Tlaquepaque (Tla-keh-pah-keh). Fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque offers the most distinctive shopping experience in the Southwest. Tlaquepaque means the "best of everything." Originally conceived as an artist community, you will enjoy the tasteful galleries and unique shops living in harmony with the timeless beauty of the lush natural environment of the Tlaquepaque grounds.

Fountain PictureFabulous art treasures await your discovery around every corner; Western and eclectic bronze sculpture, functional and traditional ceramics, fine art paintings, weavings, contemporary jewelry, designer leathers, and unusual gift items. Although lunch is not included, Tlaquepaque restaurants offer various palate-teasing choices, including Mexican cuisine.

Red RocksSedona has long been a lure to the artistic and religious communities who found inspiration and guidance in the Red Rocks of Sedona. In the 1960s, cowboy artists Joe Beeler, Charlie Dye, George Phippen, Robert MacLeod, and John Hampton held an organizational meeting at the Oak Creek Tavern and formed the Cowboy Artists of America.

As early as 1958, alternative personal development and self-help “religions” called Sedona home. In the early 1980s, the Sri Aurobindo Center for “Indian religious thought” opened. In their quest for energy, many have found it in the “vortex” energy centers of the area. Sedona has become known as a center for “New Age” consciousness.

Chapel of the Holy CrossSedona’s Chapel of the Holy Cross was built directly into a rock butte with the architecturally integrated 90-foot-high cross seeming to support the structure as it juts out from the rock. The remarkable work of art and architecture was built on leased U.S. Forest Service land in 1956 by painter/sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude.

Space is limited for this excursion, and participants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please reconfirm this registration at the AMC Registration Desk when you arrive in Phoenix
