Recently at the AMC, there have been more and more items on deficiencies with supplier Service Bulletins (SBs) submitted by the airlines. Typically, pricing of service bulletins is an annual question, with issues ranging from pricing of the overall SB, to piece part pricing, to pricing of software.
Beyond pricing, there are issues of documents and information required to accomplish the service bulletin not being in the service bulletin or available at all, availability of the service bulletin document itself, and availability of parts when the service bulletin is released.
The industry wants clarity to drive consistency between airframers and suppliers, so SBs are the same. The goal of the ARINC Standards guidance document is reduce the variances so that all SB have the look and feel.
The working group will continue from the last meeting’s developing guidance to reduce any ambiguity.
