FSEMC Data Document (FDD) Wokring Group Meeting Report. Meeting held March 26-28, 2019, in Crawley, United Kingdom.

The FSEMC Data Document (FDD) Working Group met to discuss standardizing data content required to qualify, maintain, and update a Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD).

The group completed several objectives for the FDD work. These include:

  • The ARINC 450 data requirement covers all the data needed to develop and validate the FSTD simulation models, fix wing, and now, rotary wing. It is more aircraft centric and includes performance, cueing, avionics, and aircraft systems.
  • Malfunction Data: The group discussed implementation of malfunction data into flight simulation and the use of malfunction for maintenance training.
  • Chapter 16, Sound, was reviewed in its entirety. The updates made were to add minimum sampling rates, microphone placement, recorded events list, technology improvements, and sound requirements for helicopters.

The FDD Working has determined that Draft 4 of Supplement 1 to ARINC 450 to be mature. Following the industry review, should there be no adverse industry comments, the FDD Working Group has requested that Draft 4 be forwarded to the FSEMC Steering Committee for adoption consideration.
