Galley Inserts (GAIN) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held November 12-13, 2019, in Hamburg, Germany.

Christian Auris of Airbus hosted the GAIN Subcommittee meeting in Hamburg, Germany.

At this meeting, the GAIN Subcommittee continued development of Supplement 2 to ARINC Specification 812A: Standard Data Interface for Galley Insert (GAIN) Equipment, Part 1, CAN Communications.

Supplement 2 will add new material, per APIM 17-007, as follows:

  • Identify and incorporate changes necessitated by production implementation of digital Galley Equipment
  • Update messages based on changes introduced by Supplement 3 to ARINC 825
  • Consider the effect of the new CAN FD protocol on ARINC 812Acompliant components
  • Address data security and provide guidance as needed
  • Other Action Items

Airbus proposed APIM 19-013: Supplement 6 to ARINC Specification 810, which will add new material as follows:

  • Airline sponsorship
  • Sensors capable of tracking galley inventory
  • Expansion of the definition of an Extended Size 2
  • Some minor additions to the standard could potentially be made
