Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held January 29-31, 2019, in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

The IPS Subcommittee review inputs to ARINC Project Paper 858: Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) for Aeronautical Safety Services – Technical Requirements.

The following topics were discussed pursuant to the development of ATN/IPS safety services:

  • IPS Security Considerations and Impact
  • IPS Digital Certificate Management
  • IPS Mobility Management
  • IPS Radio Interfaces
  • ATN/IPS Deployment
  • IPS Gateway Functional Requirements

The goal is to prepare a mature ARINC Project Paper 858 in 2020.

Honeywell provided an update to the ATN/IPS Task List and Gap Analysis coordinated with Standards Development Organizations (SDOs). This document is posted to the IPS web pages, https://www.aviation-ia.com/activities/internet-protocol-suite-ips-aeronautical-safety-services.

ARINC Report 658: Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) for Aeronautical Safety Services – Roadmap Document recommendations are being considered. The document will be updated as the need arises.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 25-27, 2019 in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The meeting will be held at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC).
