Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held September 14-16, 2021, Online Meeting.
The IPS Subcommittee initiated the development of three documents:
Supplement 1 to ARINC Specification 858: Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) for Aeronautical Safety Services, Part 1, Airborne IPS System Technical Requirements.
Supplement 1 to ARINC Specification 858: Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) for Aeronautical Safety Services, Part 2, IPS Gateway Interface Considerations.
Supplement 1 to ARINC Report 658: Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) for Aeronautical Safety Services - Roadmap Document.
AEEC’s Datalink and IPS Subcommittees met in a joint session on September 15. Honeywell presented a common IPS radio control plane definition. Coordination among datalink specialists will continue.
IPS cyber security requirements were discussed in detail. ARINC 858 will be aligned with ICAO WG-I security guidance expected to be available in 2022.
The next regular IPS Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for December 7-9, 2021. Inputs from ICAO WG-I, EUROCAE WG-108, and RTCA SC-223 are expected. The meeting format will be similar to recent IPS Subcommittee meetings, namely a series of online sessions.
