Systems Architecture and Interfaces (SAI) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held February 7-8, 2019, in Corla Gables, Florida.

Gables Engineering welcomed the SAI Subcommittee to their facilities in Coral Gables, Florida.

The Global Aircraft Tracking (GAT) Working Group reported its progress in developing recommendations for Autonomous Distress Tracking (ADT).

The SAI Subcommittee reviewed proposals for Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) radios using a distributed radio architecture.

Five APIMs were supported by the SAI Subcommittee in anticipation of the AEEC General Session in Prague.

  • APIM 19-001 - Supplement 1 to ARINC Characteristic 792: Second-Generation Ku-Band and Ka-Band Satellite Communication.
  • APIM 19-002 - Updates to ARINC Specification 485: Cabin Equipment Interfaces, Parts 1 and 2
  • APIM 19-003 - Supplement 4 to ARINC Specification 628: Cabin Electrical Interfaces, Part 5, Equipment and Wiring Installation.
  • APIM 19-005 - Supplement 4 to ARINC Specification 633: AOC Air-Ground Data and Message Exchange Format.
  • APIM 19-006 - New ARINC Project Paper 8xx to provide intersystem network architecture infrastructure considerations.

The next SAI Subcommittee meeting will be held June 19-21, 2019 at Airbus in Toulouse, France. The meeting will be preceded by a Global Aircraft Tracking Working Group meeting to be held June 17-19, 2019.
