Systems Architecture and Interfaces (SAI) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held February 12-14, 2020, in Coral Gables, Florida.

Gables Engineering welcomed the SAI Subcommittee to their facilities in Coral Gables, Florida.

The Global Aircraft Tracking (GAT) Working Group reported its progress in developing recommendations for Autonomous Distress Tracking (ADT).

The SAI Subcommittee reviewed proposals for Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) radios using a distributed radio architecture.

Four APIMs were supported by the SAI Subcommittee in anticipation of the AEEC General Session.

  • APIM 20-001 – ARINC Project Paper 792A: Ku-Band and Ka-Band Satellite Communication with Fiber Optic Interface
  • APIM 19-008A – ARINC Project Paper 748: Airborne Weather Radar with Advanced Antenna Technology
  • APIM 17-002B – ARINC 631 (Supplement 9, connectionless VDL)
  • APIM 09-008D – EFB Users Forum - Extension of Activity

Plans for the next SAI Subcommittee meeting are tentative. L3Harris has offered its facility in Crawley, England for a future meeting. Details will be provided as they become available.
