Systems Architecture and Interfaces (SAI) Subcommittee Meeting Report. Meeting held October 6, 2021, online meeting.

The SAI Subcommittee met to discuss its future work program including the development of standards for CNS/ATM equipment expected to be used in new aircraft type designs.

Boeing proposed that ARINC Report 660B: CNS/ATM Avionics Architectures Supporting NextGen/SESAR Concepts be re-opened to capture the latest communication, navigation, and surveillance concepts that are supported by industry. This activity would begin in 2022.

Collins Aerospace presented the impact of 5G cellular communications on aircraft and the radio altimeter in particular. 

Thales Avionics presented the impact of 5G cellular communications on aircraft and the radio altimeter in particular.

Aviation Spectrum Resources, Inc. (ASRI) presented the impact of 5G cellular communications on aircraft and potential mitigation strategies. 

The next SAI Subcommittee meeting will be held in February 2022. Details will be provided as they become available.
